Here are some noteworthy cleantech announcements of the day from around the world:

The Power Ministry has issued amendments to Charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles revised consolidated guidelines and standards issued on January 14, 2022. Under the revision, the public charging stations must have the feature of the prepaid collection of service charges with updated rates and discounts for solar hours. A committee under the Central Electricity Authority would recommend to the state government the ceiling limit of service charges to be levied, the “time of the day rate” for service charges, and the discount to be given for charging during solar hours.

Gujarat State Electricity Corporation (GSECL) has invited bids for the design, engineering, supply, procurement, installation, and commissioning of a 60 MW wind power project in Gujarat on a turnkey basis. The selected bidder will also have to take care of the comprehensive operation and maintenance of the project for 20 years. The last date to submit the bid is November 18, 2022. Bids will be opened on November 24. Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹5 million (~$61,298). The project must be completed within 20 months.

Talesun Solar and ARTsolar formally put into operation their jointly built 325 MW solar photovoltaic module facility in South Africa. The facility’s inauguration in South Africa is expected to serve as a catalyst and model for the quality-focused development of the local photovoltaic industry and the local economy. The partners would enhance their cooperation to deliver top-quality, high-performance photovoltaic modules to South Africa and the broader U.S. and European markets and accelerate the rate to attain carbon neutrality.

Gogoro Inc, a global technology provider in battery swapping ecosystems, announced a strategic B2B initiative and partnership with India’s electric vehicle (EV)-as-a-Service platform Zypp Electric. The companies together would focus on accelerating the urban shift of logistics fleets and last-mile deliveries to electric using battery swapping. Gogoro expects to launch its B2B pilot with Zypp Electric in Delhi in December 2022 and be deployed to multiple fleet operators to support last-mile fulfillment, e-commerce, and hyper-local deliveries.

Renewable energy solutions provider Hydro Rein and asset investment manager Commerz Real have partnered to develop 362 MW solar projects in Denmark.  The projects have an estimated peak capacity of 170 MW and 192 MW, respectively, and a total annual production of 412 GWh. The companies have agreed on forming a joint venture which will be equally owned and develop two early-phase solar projects in Jylland, Denmark. Construction is expected to commence in 2024, with production starting in early 2026 with the ambition to grow the portfolio to 1 GW. The seller is Danish developer GreenGo Energy, who will continue to develop the projects until the start of operations.

The Iberdrola group and AXA IM Alts signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate in the offshore wind energy deployment of 1000 wind farms in France. Under this agreement, if Iberdrola is awarded the project in the auction, the French firm will participate as a minority shareholder in the development. Bids for this tender will be submitted on November 10, 2022, and the award is scheduled for the first quarter of 2023. With a successful transaction, AXA IM Alts would advance its strategy of generating sustainable value for its clients with a commitment to social impact. In addition to this tender, Iberdrola has been pre-qualified for developing three other offshore wind energy projects, each with a capacity of 250 MW.
