Here are some noteworthy cleantech announcements of the day from around the world.

Uttar Pradesh Agricultural Produce Board (Mandi Parishad) has issued a tender inviting bids for the operation and comprehensive maintenance of 3.65 MW of solar projects with battery storage for five years. The hybrid power projects of various capacities are located at different locations under the board. The last date for submitting bids is November 28, 2022, and bids will be opened the following day. Bidders must have experience in maintaining a hybrid solar project of a minimum of 100 kW and have an annual turnover of ₹10 million.

Insolation Energy, a solar panel manufacturer in India, received a letter of award (LOA) for the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of grid-connected residential rooftop solar systems of various capacities under the Phase-II of Grid-Connected Rooftop Solar Program of MNRE in Rajasthan, for Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam. The estimated of the projects is ₹20.8 million ($251,310). The scope of work includes installing rooftop solar systems under two category ranges – Part A – 1 kW to 3 kW and Part B – Above 3 kW to 10 kW. The allocated capacity under Part A is 40 kW, and under Part B is 455 kW. The contract also includes a warranty and comprehensive operation and maintenance of the rooftop solar projects for five years.

The consortium formed by BlueFloat Energy, Energy Estate, and Elemental Group in 2021 announced a plan to build a 900 MW offshore wind farm 22 km off the coast of South Taranaki in New Zealand. The proposed project is the first of four offshore wind projects planned by the consortium in Aotearoa with the potential to add up to 5 GW of new clean energy generation. The site with this technology is located to the west of Australian Oil company Beach Energy’s operations at Kupe Platform in the South Taranaki Bight. It has been identified is large enough for several offshore wind farms to be built by different developers and help accelerate the transition to clean energy.

ACWA Power Company, Saudi Arabia’s energy major announced that it had won the contract for two floating solar projects of 110 MW capacity from PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), an Indonesia government-owned corporation. The two projects – Saguling floating solar project and Singkarak floating solar project, will have a capacity of 60 MW and 50 MW, respectively, representing a combined investment value of $105 million. ACWA Power has a 49% equity stake in both projects, with the rest being held by Indonesia Power, a subsidiary of PLN. The projects are expected to enable Indonesia to achieve its renewable energy target of 23% by 2025 under the country’s National General Energy Plan. This marks ACWA Power’s first foray into the Southeast Asian country and the company’s first floating solar PV project in its portfolio.

Suez Cement Group of Companies (SCGC), a subsidiary of HeidelbergCement, has signed a power purchase agreement with Intro Power and Utilities to set up a 20 MW solar power project within the premises of the company’s Suez Plant. With this agreement, SCGC joins forces with Intro Group in an E£350 million (~$14.43 million) long-term agreement. The project is expected to supply the Suez plant with 45 GWh of clean electricity annually and offset more than 22,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually, amounting to 440,000 tons for 20 years. The project would account for approximately 20% of the Suez Plant’s total power supply.
